A Hotel is all about the details, every single detail that makes your stay a unique one to remember. It’s the location at first, and then comes the pampering, the welcoming, the room amenities, services, and the nitty-gritty things that will make you feel at home. Le Sofitel Berlin is one of those hotels I enjoyed staying at and will recommend to my friends visiting the German capital.
Arriving late at night, we were welcomed and showed to our room up on the eighth floor. The Sofitel has a family room, a suite with another for the kids. Three beds for the kids, one king-size for the parents, and a communicating door.
I couldn’t but enjoy the details: the shower’s intense water pressure, the large bathroom, the balanced air conditioning unit, the walls covered with wood, the working desk and saloon, the relaxing bed, and much more — espresso machine, boiler, all kinds of amenities, bathrobes, and beyond.
Best of the best is the internet connection! Free internet connection with a download speed that can reach 10mb/second. I backed up all my devices, downloaded more than 400gb of videos and yet it was still fast. Choosing your stay based on internet speed has become a necessity nowadays and the Sofitel is guaranteed to satisfy your data needs.
Every morning, breakfast is served between 06:30 and 10:30 on the upper floor — a large variety of choices and one of my all time favorite eggs Benedict. Yes, one of the best I’ve ever had has been spotted in Berlin. The softest English muffin ever, two poached eggs cooked to perfection, and a creamy hollandaise with hints of acidity. It’s very special. Indeed, I’ve had it the first day and repeated the experience for the next two.
At night lights are dimmed, the vibes calm down, some people have dinner at the restaurant, some grab a drink at the bar, others approach the concierge for a recommendation... the hotel is a home away from home. Located in the center, the very heart of Berlin, it’s at a walking distance from the Apple store, the shopping center, street food stalls, and the train station.
The next morning, I woke up for the eggs! OMG... the eggs are phenomenal. Eggs Benedict, eggs Florentine and eggs royal are exceptional. Worth writing a review about, the eggs are better than any I’ve had before. The hollandaise taste is unique. The muffin tenderness and softness are beyond imaginable, and the quality of add-one makes your taste buds party. Thick ham, premium quality fatty salmon, sautéed spinach... they will make you want to scream!
Reaching out for the reception, I informed them about a defected shower: that shower was changed entirely in a matter of minutes. One of the many details I enjoyable at the Sofitel, a hotel I will visit again whenever I have the chance to. I loved the bed, loved the pillows, loved the showers, loved the elevators' speed, and the noise-proofing the rooms.
Here we go again, back in the road, leaving a 5/5 for the Sofitel: reserve next time you are in Berlin.
