It's a newly opened hotel, the Steigenberger Hotel is a German brand I have never heard of before. Just introduced in Dubai, Steigenberger is a name that's hard to pronounce and am not sure how the taxi drivers in Dubai will memorize it.

Clean, neat, professional and up to standard, this hotel is where I'll be booking again next time.

Almost alone in the hotel for the week, we stayed in a room on the 16th with a view. I spent an enjoyable week in a hotel just a few blocks away from Downtown Dubai.

It was one in the afternoon when we arrived. A very high ceiling with a reception facing the entrance. To the left are some cozy seats and the business center as for the right, continue to the elevators and the restaurant. Reflective marble, golden colors, black wood, the decoration feels luxurious without over doing it or giving it an excessive Arabian touch.

Up on the 16th is where our room was located. Two relaxing beds, a large bathroom with a view, a working desk and all the necessary amenities. Slippers and bathrobes, an ironing board, a scale and everything a bathroom should have, from a toothbrush to a shaving kit.

Breakfast at the hotel is really enjoyable. In the same space where all day dining takes place, breakfast is served from 7 to 11. It's a wide space, a high ceiling, large glass facades, a luxurious feel and a selection of food from around the world. An open kitchen, eggs and a-la-minute plates.

I used to wake up early simply not to miss this start of day. A good night's sleep can be found in any other, but the vibes and space make it a pleasure to start the day here.

Black tables covered with gold placemats, a fork knife and spoon, bamboo and a golden tree, the food is divided into five islands. Daily fresh German bread and Danish pastries, salads, a cheese display, a live waffle station, cereals of all kinds, eggs and lively cooked plates. Fruits, yogurt, gluten free bread and lunch-like offerings, like chicken noodles.

The choices are chicken congee, shakshuka, vegetarian fried noodles, dimsum, chicken buns, egg fried rice, sautéed mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, roast potatoes, veal sausage, baked beans and beef bacon.

The food is fine; I mean by fine that flavors are here but some tweaking is needed. The croissants lack flakiness for example. Even though acceptable in taste, the waffles are a bit chewy and have an oily flavor. The Eggs Benedict are over cooked and hard on the inside but look nice and taste good. A fine hollandaise with a balanced acidity, lightly chewy muffins and beef bacon.

My favorite: Infused water served as a welcoming gesture. Water with lemon or strawberries, the choices are all enjoyable.

The staff is extremely welcoming and attentive. I liked the Steigenberger Hotel. Everything was good, I spent three nights there and left happy. I surely will consider it next time.
