After five nights spent in one place you can't but discover it upside down. That my second time at the Coex Intercontinental and I personally enjoyed every detail of it. A welcoming staff always at your service, large rooms with a view, a refreshing air conditioning unit, a rich breakfast and a busy neighborhood.
The Intercontinental Coex is this tall building of 30 floors nestled in the heart of the Coex Convention Center and overlooking the Coex Mall. It's walking distance from a Buddhist temple you can visit, 10 minutes from GangNam and twenty minutes from the city center. The hotel hosts three restaurants, a casino, spa and transport service to the airport.
Down at the reception you are welcomed like a king. Eight employees manage the door before you even reach reception. Ladies in their traditional dress, bell service, valet parking and a concierge.
The room is wide enough with a desk, a large bathroom, an empty mini bar and a relaxing bed. It also offers all the amenities you need, a safe, ironing board, slippers, bathrobe, shower and bathtub. It offers a warm feel, a large television with a choice of international channels, a sofa and is covered with a fluffy carpet. The water pressure is awesome! But balancing the water between hot and cold is not too pleasant.
I loved the super speedy free Internet, the fast elevators, the view from the 30th floor, the breakfast choices, the lobby and how you can reach the convention area or shopping mall by taking the escalator.
It surely is recommended. Five stars deserved, a pleasant stay I'll remember, a city I loved.
