When I hear about a restaurant that offers Arguileh, I'm not too tempted to go try it. But even though the air quality is bad, some of these places do offer good food and Le Maillon is one of them.
Down on Jal El Dib highway are three restaurants, three huge entities built one next to the other: Republic, Le Maillon and Square. A high ceiling, wood decorations covering the ceiling and walls in a restaurant divided into two distinct spaces spread over three levels and three terraces. It is a very big place, high glass facades, with lights pending down from the ceiling, while portraits decorate the walls… Le Maillon cafe is a colorful space overall with green and purple colors with lots of dark wood and stones … fit for a cafe and shisha place.
Sushi from Ichiban or the wide selection of international food, the choices are endless. A large menu divided into many categories to please all needs. An international menu is proposed.

The waiter insisted I try their plat du jour and what else than traditional cooked food to judge a restaurant. Stroganoff reminded me of my grandma's; a portion of well-cooked rice served on a plate with a side bowl of stroganoff meat bathing in red sauce with bell pepper decorations. Enjoyed my lunch.
My friend ordered a selection of sushi and makis from Ichiban, which he surely appreciated. The sushi is freshly rolled next to the bar.
My friend Rudy likes chicken so he got the marinated chicken and while looking at him enjoying it, it was clear how tender and soft the chicken breast was. Marinated for long hours, the chicken is grilled to perfection leaving it with a beautiful darkish color.
This kind of places may not be my favorite, but one can't deny that the chef knows what he's doing.
My friends enjoyed the shisha for which they come here to enjoy twice a week. It was a pleasant lunch. The restaurant filled up quickly and it was Wednesday. It seems popular.
