Lafayette Gourmet’s Food Fest in Dubai

In the center of Dubai Mall, in the heart of LaFayette department store, stands a new reference in luxury, La Fayette Gourmet. Here’s destination for food connoisseurs, delicatessen, palate games and more.

As I entered the LaFayette Gourmet in Dubai, I couldn’t help but compare it to the one I have already tried in Paris. A million questions zapped through my head: Would they have the same choices as the one in Paris; would it carry the same quality, use the same ingredients, apply the same knowhow and offer the same variety… in its Dubai version, that’s some 4800km far away from the original source? The wide floor is divided into many sections, the grocery part where you can buy all your needs and the other half boats a restaurant tasting area where you can buy feebly prepared food or even eat on spot.

There’s a fish market, a cheese fridge, a pork room, sushi and Japanese section, the grill area, the pastry island, the meat corner, the vegetables paradise, an Italian oven and the chicken side. International chefs from Morocco, Lebanon, India, Italy, Asia Pacific and the Mediterranean are found at the La Fayette Gourmet. Basically you can imagine the vast amount of choices. Do you see what I am trying to say? The possibilities are endless.

The variety of food and vegetables are available fresh, frozen, cooked or even packed depending on the customers needs. After visiting the different parts of the restaurant, my friend and I decided to sit down at the restaurant for lunch. The menu is divided intro three parts: The Luxury menu, the sushi counter menu and the regular menu that includes Italian, Mediterranean, Asian and Indian food choices. You can order whatever you want from the menu and have it delivered to your table.

I think it’s a great place for a group of friends want to go out. They will surely enjoy La Fayette Gourmet, more than any other regular restaurant out there. The wide space, the variety of food choices as well as their welcoming staff, all play a role in making this address a number one choice for many. It’s like visiting ten restaurants under one roof, tasting several ingredients from international cuisines, eating there as well as wrapping some to take home for the next day.

We had the Spider Roll Maki (crab, avocado, wasabi and lettuce), the Wasabi prawns with mango sauce, lamb Tajin with Safran and onions. Delicious and fresh! If you’re looking for change, a new culinary experience, a fresh new way of living, here it is, visit Lafayette Gourmet, you’ll understand my enjoyment.
