How great it is to go back to the classics; Michel, a passionate restaurateur, has been operating his small bistro behind Rizk hospital in Achrafieh for several years now. Offering the same menu with the same taste ever since I still enjoy dining here as if it was the first time. Calm and cozy, the restaurant welcomes you home; Michel was handling the orders, he suggests the best wine and the day’s specials.

The bread is exceptional, a great first impression for a memorable dinner. Close your eyes and enjoy; a light crunch, a thin envelop, a handful of airy bubbles, a certainly enjoyable lightness... that’s bread, French people couldn’t bake. Take it with your hands, break it in half, hear its breaking sound enchant your ears while you lay it on your tongue. Moist, fresh and ready to amaze. I loved it so much that I needed up eating three pieces of it. With that, a homemade tapenade of fresh olives for you to spread.

If you think you’ve had good Makanek before, think again! One of the tastiest or probably the tastiest makanek I’ve had are prepared the fine-dining way. Gourmet, they melt under your teeth while kicking around your mouth a strong acidic taste of balsamic vinegar. The apple cubes make it even tastier and classier. Bravo Michel, this is an achievement.

The salads are as great as all the rest. Fresh lettuce from Jbeil, cherry tomatoes, toasted slices of bread, warm goat cheese cream, crisp endives and beyond.

The queen of the night is the plate of chicken liver: "Foie de Volaille au Porto": One of my favorite plates at Michel’s is the chicken liver and its incredible sauce. Just throw your fries in and enjoy the mix in style. The meat is so tender and light and the sauce exquisite. The chicken liver plate with its strong peppery flavor is a unique dish, which I love. Even though salty today, I finished it entirely. I would recommend you try the chicken liver plate’s sauce with the meat - it is exquisite.

The rest of the food landed on the table, and it’s all super duper delicious! I never imagined meat to be as tender as this one, so smooth and so clean in texture and taste. It feels like a Kobe without any fiber of hard-textured chunk. The burger, gourmet with tomato and onion confit and American pickles in a brioche bun covered with sesame. My family had the risotto, the chicken, scallops and the salmon which they all enjoyed.
