A bit pretentious I'd say, or at least that was the first impression I had as I stepped into Best Burgers. As the experience started, I was actually happy to be here... Best Burgers serve ten burger varieties, as well as salads, sandwiches, fries and crepes.
Located in Hazmieh on the lower road after Jisr el Bacha, is a burger place, small with strong aromas and flavors surrounding it. A bar, an open kitchen, a Pepsi fridge and an upper floor. The place is handled by a young guy and managed by chef Charbel Harfouch.
A simple place, a red signboard, a wall painted in orange and the grill. 10 burgers at reasonable prices, that's what this place offers. Best, cheese, Animal style, double, Shroom, Dragon, BBQ bacon, tuna, chicken and a light version.
We ordered the cheese burger to get a feel for the meat, the Dragon with a hint of spiciness and the BBQ bacon.
Every burger comes with complementary fries, and they're only an average of LBP9,000 each.
Animal, is inspired by In'n'out burgers, Shroom is inspired by Shake Shack but everything looks nice, the burgers are made of whole cuts of meat, grain fed organic Angus beef.
Three burgers made it to the grill and were grilled and topped with cheese. On the side the bun was being prepared, sauce, lettuce and tomato. Things looked nice.
- The cheese burger: A tender bun, two slices of lettuce, one of tomato, the signature sauce mix and the meat, grilled to perfection with a peppery flavor. The meat is good, really good, especially when eaten alone. Just meat, or at least that's what I felt, and it's good.
- The BBQ bacon is delicious: Super crispy bacon with slices of avocado, tomatoes and lettuce fit between two tender and lightly sticky buns. The meat is tasty, the avocado adds flavor, a light sweetness, but the bacon is the part that makes of this burger a different a tasty one; Extremely crispy and full of taste. I liked it a lot!

The Dragon burger, or best for last. Flavorful fire as they call it, a simple burger with a special sauce inside. An amazing, moderately spicy sauce with crispy jalapeños, crispy onions, Jack Daniels BBQ sauce -which is my favorite sauce ever- cheese and con carne sauce. Oh man, that's a marvelous piece of wonder. Lightly salty at the end note, full of taste, balanced and guaranteeing of satisfaction. Good job, guys.
The fries are simple but sprinkled with herbs and salt. Unpeeled fries with a lightly crunchy envelope and a tender heart, oil-free and good.
