BEC: Bacon, Eggs and Cheese for Breakfast
Non-smokers friendly
Quick Eats

BEC is a simple kitchen that sells sandwiches. People love it here. You will find ten marble tables, a floor covered with colorful mosaic, walls painted in white and decorated with writing, two mirrors and an open kitchen behind a long counter.

Customers come in for a tasty breakfast, but this place is more popular for its delivery; probably three dozen delivery guys came in while we were having breakfast.

Bacon, eggs and cheese is what they are know for. Ten sandwiches to order from, two snacks, three salads and coffee from the Brooklyn Roasting Company.

The cheese sandwich was like any other cheese sandwich. Brown bread with cheddar inside. Melting cheese and soft bread. The road house is ciabatta bread with Damian pork sausages, a sharp cheddar, ripe avocados and barbecue sauce, which add light and enjoyable sweetness. Great ingredients but the ciabatta is cheesier than expected.

The BEC Classic is their signature, chosen by TimeOut New York as the best cheese, eggs and bacon sandwich. Two eggs, sunny side up perfectly cooked, Applewood smoked and crunchy bacon, melted cheddar cheese inside a signature brioche topped with cheddar and crunchy bacon flakes. Indeed the bun was the main deal, ingredients were really good but I expected a certain freshness and juiciness that it lacked. It was a bit dry.

Even though the sandwiches need some fine tuning, I liked it here!
