YoSushi is a famous Japanese franchise which has made it to the world's busy cities and airports. It surely isn't the best sushi out there but one can't deny that it's good enough for a lunch escape or a get together with friends. It's one of those fast food casual sushis where food is served on the conveyor belt.
Choose a table with the conveyor passing next to it or simply face it. The belt is filled with color coded plates in purple, yellow, orange and blue. Each has a different contents and price.
The place looks nice, colorful and fun, the staff is welcoming and smiley, dozens of take away orders arrive by the hour while chefs roll and prepare new plates for customers to pick from the belt.
In the middle of the table are a couple of holes. One for soy plates, a bowl of wasabi, a large serving of ginger, two soy sauce bottles and napkins. Next to that is the call button; a waiter is ready to assist in seconds.
Lunch was not bad. The rice has a good consistency, the rolls are a good size, the fish is fresh and the mixes are interesting. Crisps are crispy and spices are spicy. The rolls have a certain flavor to them.
The things we tried:
- Crispy duck futomaki
- Yo California roll
- Salmon dragon roll
- Poached salmon and dill
- Salmon selection
- Spicy chicken katsu
- Vegetable futomaki
- Salmon nigiri
All went well. I'd visit again for a quick lunch with the guys. I enjoyed my meal and continued the rest of the day without feeling heavy or bad.
