Visiting the region of Alsace for a week during the Christmas season, I passed by the village of Obernai, traditional and preserved with houses built at the beginning of the century. With three Christmas markets open around the city, I walked around, tasted the food then stopped at La Dime for a choucroute.

With not a single table empty, the restaurant seems to be one of the best around the city. Choucroute and local specialities await with the logo of “homemade” next to every dish. I liked the vibes and welcoming, so I ordered the choucroute and a bottle of wine, enjoying my lunch before drinking back to Strasbourg.

I loved the Choucroute! A massive plate of choucroute loaded with pork, ham, and sausages. Cabbage baked in their sauce make them acidic and powerfully flavorful — excellent quality I enjoyed and would recommend to my friends visiting Obernai. Generously loaded plate and good food, what else would someone need.
