After experience three not-so-good breakfast experiences this morning, I ended my tour at Twinkie. I liked the place from the minute I walked it. Positive vibes, little figurines decorating the windows, old stone walls, a ceiling made of old wooden beams, an open kitchen and American coffee machine. American vibes the French way, soothing jazz music from the eighties; everything to make you let go and enjoy your time.
Free coffee refill, cuisines from the world, good service and pleasant vibes; I was excited to try their food. A smiley lady welcomes you in; she looks like the owner.
I was happy to eat; the ingredients used are excellent, the plates are generously loaded... Yummy food is served at Twinkie. Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, poached egg on avocado toast, pastrami sandwich with spicy mustard and two thick pancakes. I’m a fan of pastrami! I loved it, the freshness, the tenderness, the spiciness and crunchy vegetables around. It has nothing to do with New York’s pastrami yet its good as a French sandwich.
Avocado toast is excellent! The bread quality and ripe avocados blend well together. Fluffy English muffins, fatty smoked salmon and a hollandaise that would have been better with more acidity.
Fluffy pancakes topped with whipped cream, kiwi and bananas ready for a drizzle of maple or Nutella. Yummy!
An enjoyable breakfast I’ll repeat and will add to my top10 list of great things to eat in the morning in Paris. The owner rocks!
