If you want to be a superhero, you’ve got to start eating like one before you can start acting like one. In the latest Blockbuster, The Avengers, the famous Lebanese Shawarma was mentioned in the movie and since then, our beloved home made dish has been big on Twitter, Facebook, Search Engines... Makes me proud!
It's all over the news now... I don't want to say too much as I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone. In the superhero movie, Iron Man (played by Robert Downey Jr.) comes out of a major battle with a sudden, inexplicable craving for shawarma. In the movie he says: "Have you ever tried shawarma?" he asks Captain America (Chris Evans). "There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is, but I want to try it."
The dish is trending on Twitter, big on Facebook and when Jon Stewart makes a shawarma reference on the "Daily Show," people cheer.
