It is indeed one of the finest hotels I have visited to date and it starts as soon as you arrive at the entrance. A majordomo welcomed us, took the car and made sure the luggage was sent to the room while we walked to the reception. We were spending three nights at the Rocco Forte.

The Rocco Forte hotel is one of Munich's finest. A deluxe room of 40 square meters, a reception staff that's welcoming and gentle and a concierge that makes sure you're served to perfection. As soon as we arrived we were offered hot wet towels to refresh ourselves while the keys were prepared.

Afterwards, the receptionist accompanied us to the room explaining every detail on the way. The room is superb. A mini bar, a TV, a large king size bed with a layover cover, some books adding a touch of finesse, a mini bar and safe, two sofas and complementary bottles of sparkling and still water. The Internet is complementary, a working desk and a bathroom that's amazing!

The bathroom is so wide with a bathtub and large shower. All the amenities await, slippers and bathrobes. Classy and luxurious. They even have a scale. The only thing missing in the room is an espresso machine. With all this luxury, not having an espresso machine is a bit awkward.

Four pillows, fluffy and soft, enough lights add a cozy ambiance but a TV that could be a bit bigger. Anyway, no coffee machine and a small TV won't make me love the hotel less. It's worth every penny we paid for it.

After checking-in, we went down to the bar for a drink. In the lobby is a small space win a piano and a bar where drinks and bites are served. Appetizers and mains with specials of the season of which I chose a craft beer from Munich.

Behind the lobby is the restaurant where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. A beautiful space with a high ceiling and beautiful decorations. Having a look at it made me want to have dinner here. The food at the bar is delicious. Small portions but a great result. Charcoal grilled octopus and mashed potatoes, buffalo mozzarella, fried zucchini flowers and mini enchiladas. With that I had "Crew Republic", a Munich craft beer.

Around 7, the night service visits the rooms making sure everything is clean, jackets are hung, water bottles are full and two chocolate squares are offered. The bed is prepared and the laundry set reminds you that you can leave your clothes for an overnight cleaning.

After a relaxing night's sleep, we woke up to a beautiful Munich and were excited to try breakfast. A sumptuous and generous breakfast divided into four islands offering everything from hot meals, sausages, fruits and cereals. Cheese, bread and a selection of eggs from the kitchen of which my favorite eggs was the Benedict. Their coffee is also special and recommended.

I expected better from dinner. A five star, a renowned Italian restaurant... Expensive for what you get, the plates are complicated and lack flavors as for dessert, it's a bit out of context.

Every detail is taken care of: The last day, taking the road to Berlin, candies and water were left in the car.

An excellent hotel indeed, one of the finest stays ever.
