Finally a hotel that deserves its stars! After staying at the Vitosha Park Hotel and the Rachev Hotel, Arbanazi Resort which both claim to be four-star hotels and where definitely not, I tried the The Metropolitan Hotel Sofia, which was fine... In this country, they seem to rate hotels as they please, may be if I look around I might find a hotel that is rated as ten-star - since two were rated 4 but where not even close to two.
The Metropolitan Hotel Sofia, Bulgaria is a stylish urban hotel with an unconventional design welcomes you at the eastern gate of the capital city, very close to Sofia Airport, on the way to the Business Park Sofia and within walking distance from the International Expo Centre (IEC). Discreet and thoughtful service, feel-at-home sensation and varied entertainment make your stay a memorable experience. A professional hotel deserving it stars. A professional welcoming, followed by a nice lobby, a panoramic elevator and a nice spacious room with a working desk as well as a sofa facing the TV.
- A safe - A mini bar - A amazingly fast 20mb Internet connection - Shampoo, lotion, cotton... The minimum a hotel should have in their personalized packaging. - A bathrobe with matching slippers.
The things I liked:
- A nice air-conditioning system with its professional control panel - I was impressed by the Internet service and speed - Their airport shuttle car and service are very professional.
The negative points that can easily be fixed and will add a lot to the hotel:
- Always have an additional pillow in the closet - Using bigger an thicker blankets. The ones used are very small and doesn't cover the whole bed. - Tissue box is a must in the rooms! That's unacceptable! It was a quick night indeed but one I enjoyed the most after trying two other different hotels in the country.
It's a hotel I'll definitely pass by again...
