Ashur: Kempinski Ishtar Italian Restaurant

Fine living is what the Kempinski hotel down at the Dead Sea is all about. It's the place to relax. Come as a family or a couple or with friends and discover the wonders of the Dead Sea alongside many restaurants and dining possibilities. This is my fourth time on the Dead Sea and this is my favorite visit to date.

At the Kempinski, you're welcomed and treated like a star. The hotel is clean and grandiose, while the room is wide and with a certain warmth to it. The food is tasty. The Kempinski is indeed a five stars hotel.

We arrived before noon, checked-in and went straight to lunch. Although the food is good in their restaurants, they have a problem with the service.

Access to the sea is relaxing, pick a towel and walk down the stairs. The hotel also has many pools you can enjoy depending on your mood; kids have one, family another and couples a specialized one with a DJ entertaining it during sunset hours.

The best part is the spa. 10,000 square meters of enjoyment. Pure pleasure and luxury proposed at one of the middle east's biggest spas. Three stories, pools, a terrace and total calm as well as massage and treatment rooms.

Up in the room, a large space, a bathtub and shower, a working desk and sofa as well as an enjoyable terrace with a view. A fluffy bed, relaxing pillows, a large television in a room made with style.

Breakfast is served in two different areas, the lobby and the Asterisk restaurant. You'll find a wide choice of food spread on different tables like any other Kempinski around the world.

Unfortunately the eggs Benedict were a total failure. A thick buttery cream they call sauce Hollandaise and eggs without any taste served on hard fluffy French bread slices. Bad! I also wanted cold yogurt with my cereals which I couldn't find on display.

Comparing it to the Movenpick which I visited three times already or the Crown Plaza which I walked to for dinner, surely this one wins. Although the service is not as professional as I would expect, which is a national issue. In all cases the Kempinski has many interesting services that will cover up on the rest.

If I have the chance to visit the Dead Sea again, I'll choose the Kempinski.
