This hotel didn't cease to amaze me... after the delicious dinner I had the night before, I was excited to try their breakfast. Breakfast at Mama Shelter is served next to the lobby in the hotel's unique restaurant. With jazz music playing in the background, I roamed around the buffet of endless possibilities.
What makes this place different and unique is the setup of things, the details, the decor, the presentation and of course the flavors.
I have had varied breakfasts in my time but none have been as rich and varied as this one. From cold cuts to eggs, fruits and yogurt, cereals and fresh bread, the buffet set around the bar makes you want to have everything.
Dark and dim, the restaurant makes you relax... some chatting, others reading the paper, a couple chatting and a family getting together... the vibes with the music playing makes it perfect for starting your day in style.
Start from one side, tour around and end at the same point after visiting all sections. You'll find boiled eggs and hot water to do your own, cakes and fruits, jams and syrups, an island of bread and brioche, fruits, juice, coffee, a big selection of tea, Detox water and croissants. Cheese, ham and freshly cut vegetables. On another table you'll find the cutlery and hot items like sausage, scrambled egg and bacon.
I loved the food! The butter is delicious, the bread exceptional, the brioche is so soft and moist, the croissants buttery and fresh, the corn flakes are crunchy and the fruits are flavorful.
I enjoyed the jam jars used to prepare the yogurt and flakes, how the coffee and water are presented, the long bar of bread and again... I loved the music that caught my attention and spirits again and again.
