The best and only in Athens. It’s certainly expensive, but utterly worth it. You won’t be disappointed with the array of tastes found in every dish.
Spondi restaurant in Pangrati Athens is a 2 Michelin star restaurant and a member of Relais & Chateaux. Since it’s opening in 1996, it has became a landmark in Athens as one of the top (if not the top) restaurants to dine. It is around 150 -200 euros a head. It was voted best restaurant in Athens from 2007-2011 and for very good reasons.
At Spondi the ambiance is created by a wonderful terrace with nice, cozy lighting, but it can be a bit hot in summer. The food has impressive taste and amazing decoration, but it's more for degustation, than eating to feel full. Spondi’s Head Chef Michel del Burgo, French born and classically trained in Parisian restaurants he moved to Greece to be Spondi’s Head Chef.
The decor is unique and reminiscent of a brick stone cellar during the winter, and in the summer, you can sit outside in the lovely garden. The food is exquisite and you can taste every layer of perfume as you take a bite. Spondi was one of the few places where you can discuss your wines with a professional French sommelier that has an extensive knowledge in French and international wines and can recommend the best bottles with the food ordered.
