Located on a very calm street in the old town of Modena, Spaccio dell Carceri was recommended to me by the hotel receptionist and she was right! Much more than a pub, a restaurant and Music club decorated in an unconventional way. An open kitchen, a communal table with a bathtub in the middle, a wall like the ones you see in jails, a metal cage, a bar, and candles to light up all tables. I loved the outside seating made of colorful chairs and wooden tables that’s why I chose to enjoy the cold, where no Music plays experience a calm night in Modena.
The restaurant proposes a selection of finger food, salads, and burgers, cold cuts, ribs and meat, salmon and fish, chicken and side dishes.
A bizarre incident: the bartender doesn’t know what a “Gin Basil” is.
Loved the vibes and the great white wine I had. A place to try when visiting Modena.
