A highlight of the souq area is the Khan el-Franj, the most beautiful and best preserved of all the limestone khans built by Fakhreddine in the 17th century. Wonderfully restored courtesy of the Hariri Foundation, it consists of vaulted arcades surrounding a large rectangular courtyard with a central fountain, and now houses Sidon's tourist office and the ateliers of some craftspeople.
Souk el Akel, for the first time in Saida, a unique event at the historical Khan el Franj. Travel back in time while enjoying the finest the local food scene has to offer. A national premiere... An event not to be missed.
