On social media there is “Snack el Estez”, in Achrafieh is where you can taste their food. A trendy “Lebanese Snack” occupies the corner of Zaatar w Zeit and Credit Bank in Sodeco, facing Bank Audi and Banque Libano-Francaise. Have a shawarma, a burger, a meat sandwich, and a fries sandwich: sit at the bar and enjoy seeing them being prepared in front of you.
Wearing black uniforms, the staff, with gloves in their hands and a cover on their head, smile and suggest your next meal. I paid 30,000LBP for four sandwiches; a great value for money.
American street food prepared the Lebanese way:
- Shawarma: At first, all I saw is bread... when you bite into it and feel the juiciness of this sandwich, you will change your mind. Juicy, tender and flavorful, the only thing I’ll change is the pickles quality; they are way too salty. First sandwich and I loved it!
- Bravo for the burger, Bravo a hundred times! Bravo for the simplicity, the taste, the quality of ingredients, the balance of flavors and the presentation. Thank you for giving me the burger of my childhood, the simplicity of a sandwich not found anymore in town.
- Excellent meat wrapped with soft bread and a spread of hummus: try the grilled meat sandwich.
- French fries burger for last: I loved it! Excellent fries with ketchup and coleslaw. I asked for it without garlic and believe me it doesn’t need any. Toasted to perfection, the sandwich drew a smile on my face.
Bravo! Bravo for serving the real Lebanese Street Food experience. Thank you for making my day. I will recommend El Estez to all my friends.
