It's not a secret anymore; Semsom is one of my favorite Lebanese restaurants with a twist. I've been to the one in Beirut several times, visited the one in Oman, New York and now Kuwait. Filming my latest Mechwar episode, I gave a local franchise a try and I loved it. I enjoyed the food at Semsom: the beetroot moutabbal, the hummus with sumac and many other dishes with that special twist found in them. Check the photo gallery and enjoy their beautiful plates.
Semsom created Healthy and delicious Lebanese dishes with a modern twist. Made from fresh ingredients and innovative pairings like hummus and sumac, orange blossom water and osmalieh vermicelli.
Some items I recommend:
- The beetroot comes in a beautiful burgundy plate with crushed beetroot mixed with tahina. Diced beetroot explodes smoothly under the palate, tahina caresses your taste buds while the color puts a smile on your face. Unique for a Lebanese restaurant.
- Frikeh salad: Frikeh, 2015's trendy food has made it to Semsom. Frikeh mixed with diced cucumbers, tomatoes, pomegranate and parsley. The texture of those tiny little bits exploding or crunching all at once in this juicy lemony salad. It doesn't only taste good but looks good.
- The Kebbe stuffed with meat, fried then topped with labneh and pomegranate molasses.
Located adjacent to The Palms and SAS hotels on the Al-Bidaa coast strip, Arabella features over 13,000 square meters of dining and entertainment options, with 36 indoor/outdoor units to serve as restaurants, cafes and more.
In town or abroad, Semsom is an enjoyable taste of Lebanon.
