On the corner of Bush and Powell, few meters from my hotel, Roxanne serves breakfast until 2 pm. Eggs, French toast, pancakes, and waffles alongside omelets and sandwiches. An American diner with its benches and white table covers, light music and cooking sound coming from the kitchen.

I loved the croissant stuffed with scrambled eggs and chunks of salmon; a flaky croissant loaded with moist eggs and juicy salmon. On top of that comes a layer of molten cheese. The eggs Benedict are good enough, a flavorful hollandaise but the ham has that taste of canned commercial food. Pancakes are fluffy, homey and tasty.

Homey flavors of an American breakfast, stopping at Roxanne was an enjoyable experience I would repeat. My coffee was refilled for four times; music is soothing, staff is welcoming and the bench relaxing. Watching San Francisco wake up, I started my day in style.
