So, it's not a restaurant review and not a tasty discovery around town but a delicious brunch I enjoyed at my friend's garden and wanted to share with you. How many times have we thought of hosting a brunch at home - something original, tasty and impressive to your guests? My brunch was enjoyable and choices on display were vast...I think this post will shed light on some ideas...
We reached at 10:30am and saw long buffets of heavenly choices already setup just waiting to be devoured. There was a bread section, another for the dairy products, a third for meat items, and another filled with desserts and sweets as well as two live cooking stations preparing eggs and saj manakish. The food offered:
- Mouhallabiya
- Pancakes
- Cheese (kashkaval, halloum, mchallale, yellow cheese
- Kechek
- Pate de porc
- Smoked salmon
- Basket of bread, kaak, brioche, saj
- Lebanese kaak eswara
- Basket of croissant
- Rocket salad
- Figs and grapes
- Labneh
- Sfouf
- Pancake
- Fresh honey
- Carabij
- Raw kebbe
- Kebbe bel saniye
- Fresh cold cuts
- Foul and Balila
- Jams
- Mafrouke
- Debs kharroub
- Nutella
Wow! everything was superb. The plates richly filled, generous portions, an awesome choice, all combined together to give everyone's taste buds an ultimate pleasure.
Cooks and Trays, a catering company handled the eggs section. Four pans preparing the tastiest eggs mix of vegetables, ham, cheese and truffles. My favorite was the truffle eggs! Super delicious.
The Eggs station choices:
- Cucumber, corn, tomato, mushroom, beans, bell pepper, ham, turkey, bacon, awarma, onions, sumac, cheese, mozzarella, tomato, truffles, truffle oil
The Saj Station:
To accompany this rich choice of food was a bar where any morning craving is available:
- Nescafé, Nespresso, alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, water, milk and cereals.
A lovely Sunday spent with friends and my family. Rich and varied, the brunch started at 10:30am and ended at 4pm with Saj-Nutella freshly made... It was an ongoing feast. We had fun, puffed some cigars, laughed and enjoyed our time - all with a big smile.
