Check all your preconceptions at the door and you'll be able to enjoy this French restaurant.

Nos ancetres les Gaulois is an experience, it’s not a restaurant. Tucked away in the heart of the Île Saint-Louis, one of the highlights of medieval Paris and not far from Notre Dame Cathedral, is a restaurant like no other: "Nos Ancêtres les Gaulois" It's a touristic place to be visited at least once in a lifetime. It’s a very old venue, like a basement, where you re-live how the Gallic civilization used to eat, drink, scream and have fun. Do not expect to eat high-end food, or be served with white gloves, it's all about laughing and enjoying the moment. Meat, wine, fat, bread, sauces all contribute in the effort of making you gain weight in only a night, so be prepared not to eat for a day before visiting the place. I enjoyed my time, hoping you will too.

The menu: Salted meats, Cold meats, Mixed salads, Beef or lamb kebab, Rib steak, Slice of leg of lamb, Lamb chops, Vegetables, Cheese platter, choice of desserts: Apple pie, Ice cream, Chocolate mousse, Creme caramel and as much Corbieres or Bordeaux wine from the barrel as you can drink.
