I was back to enjoy the Matto vibes, professional service, and tasty food. I was happy to be served by Roland, a professional waiter working hard to satisfy all customers. My kids enjoyed the carousel and outdoor activities, and I savored unique spaghetti and an outstanding pizza. Start with truffle fries and let your senses guide you through a memorable lunch.

I like it here, the pizza, the salads, the new food inventions and especially two plates: The Carbonara spaghetti and Bottarga linguini.

You have to try:

Bottarga... yes, Batrakh, linguini with shredded bottarga mixed with linguini pasta and olive oil. Cooked al dente, the Pasta explodes the flavors of batrakh leaving a strong after-taste in the mouth. Have a bite than a second, wait a minute and let be flavors take action caressing every taste bud. A classy plate that feels creamy without being so, a light and enjoyable bitterness, smooth saltiness. Not a plate for the faint of heart, a gourmet approach on a Pasta few chefs master. An experience you won’t be living every day. Bottarga is the Italian name for a delicacy of salted, cured fish roe, typically of the grey mullet or the bluefin tuna (bottarga di tonno), frequently found near coastlines throughout the world, that often is featured in Mediterranean cuisine and consumed in many other regions of the world. The food bears many different names and is prepared in several different ways.

The Pasta is exceptional! One of the best, not to say the best Carbonara I’ve had at a restaurant in Lebanon is found at Matto. Extremely al-dente -and I love them this way-, hard textured spaghetti mixed with egg yolk, Parmesan cheese with bits of bacon; the real carbonara without cream. Bravo chef for such an outstanding creation I’ll surely come back for. It’s breathtaking. Feels creamy without cream, eggs are not felt, bacon is well pan-fried, adequately peppered and the spaghetti are as thick as they need to be. I’m Impressed!
