Looking for a way to start your day with a smile? Good food always cheers me up and breakfast at LVD proved that to me further. Latest Version Diner (LVD) located on Dbayeh's seaside has been marketing it's early breakfast since it first opened more than a year ago. I have been meaning to try it before wanted to try it since but never had the chance. 
Together with a few of my friends, we head down to LVD to enjoy the last days of hot summer mornings. This typical American diner serves breakfast from 6am until 11am. On the list are three choices of sweet items and three savory items. Ironically speaking, we were warmly welcomed by a person who saw us, walking us into the place but didn't bother standing up. A sleepy executive and another waiter who had just arrived although it was already 8am and may I remind you that breakfast starts at 6am -as they market it. The dining room was not even ready to welcome anyone. Anyway, it was a small issue solved quickly. The menu:
- Morning Harvest eggs (3 eggs) 9,500L.L sunny side up, over easy, over hard served with toast & mixed salad
- Freshly Boiled Eggs (3 eggs) 8,500L.L boiled, peeled, cut into halves served on bed of iceberg with toast & mixed salad
- Scrambled eggs (3 eggs) 9,500L.L served with toast & mixed salad
- Corn flakes & fresh milk 6,500L.L Plain & chocolate
- Buttermilk Pancakes (plain, chocolate & banana, fruit berries) 9-12,000L.L
- Homemade Waffles (crystal sugar, chocolate & banana, fruit berries) 10-13,000L.L
- Extras (sausages, bacon, cheese) or ice cream scoop
- On the house are the orange juice, tea and black coffee.
Yorgo, our waiter took care of us with his gentle smile. It's not too easy to work this early in the morning after all. 
Breakfast started with the eggs, three individual sunny side up eggs served individually on a square piece of bread. Non oily, almost done, yet soft and seasoned with just the right amount of salt and pepper. A rich plate filled with green salad. This is a good way to start. The scrambled eggs have this homey feel I really enjoyed. Beautiful yellow with a pleasant peppery aftertaste and no oil. With three bread slices and green salad, the plate is mouthwatering. Adding to that the salad vinaigrette is smooth. 
I loved their American coffee, its softness and lightness. I enjoyed it without adding any sugar. And then, came the waffles and pancakes. It's like time has stopped as I grabbed my phone and started shooting these beautiful plates. Fresh colors that make you say WOW. An oval waffle, 2cm thick and 10cm wide with a hard crunchy cover and a soft sweet inner filling. This is what I call a decent tasty waffle. Add to that some red fruits jam, strawberries and banana and you're in heaven. 
Four pancakes with chocolate chips served with warm banana slices and a Nutella dip. Thin and soft, every bite passes through in style. Nothing chews and nothing crunches. I planned to eat one single bite just for tasting but couldn't stop. 
All I can say is that breakfast at LVD is the perfect recipe to start off your day in style... and with a smile...This is a place I will recommend to all my friends.
