Liza, an excellent restaurant in Lebanon and Paris.

What a difference! A huge difference between the fast food shop and the restaurant. After finishing the sandwiches we moved to have lunch. A beautiful space inspiring class and finesse with a style of modernism and freshness. The door opens onto a curtain hiding the spacious restaurant. Dimmed lights and a wooden floor with metallic tables.

I loved it; the first impression is excellent and catchy. A wooden floor and those special metallic tables lit with hanging chandeliers casting reflections and shadows on the walls. A stylish and minimalistic wallpaper with arabesque patterns covering the glass facades of the restaurant. Round and square, big and small, each table has its charm. On them are an olive oil bottle and a salt mill.

Every detail counts. The tables are imprinted with a flying elephant, the different rooms, the wall covered with stones, the metallic bread basket, the sofas with a thick wooden back, the light chairs and much more.

The staff is welcoming and professional. A smile on their face, they explained the menu and waited for the order. The menu is simple. A paper menu displaying the three trays: the original tray, the signature tray and the tray of the month. Each has a choice of 5 mezzes while the a la carte has a simple choice of cold, hot and grills. A plat du Jour... The signature is the kharrouf Mehche.

€23 for a tray, €26 for he kharrouf Mehche and €26 for the grilled mix, the prices are up to those of a fine dining restaurant. Ten years in Paris already and I'm happy to be here today.

  • Three beautiful platters landed on the table. A round metallic platter with five glass bowls. A fresh and flavorful tabboulleh, a light and fresh tabbouleh with a pinch of sweetness, a well balanced moudardara, juicy tawouk, tender sautéed potatoes. The Alkass bi Zeit is fresh and crunchy, excellent fish served with its sauce and chard, outstanding moutabbal, enjoyable salad, kebet laktine I recommend and finally the kharrouf.
  • The kharrouf deserves a line. Wow! What a meat! A chunk of extremely tender meat filled with flavors melts under the teeth. The lamb can be pulled into pieces without needing to use a knife and is served on top of a bed of rice. That kind of oily rice, cooked to perfection, flavorful and mixed with nuts and dried raisins. Sliced apples add a touch of color.

Proudly Lebanese, Liza has taken advantage of the sexiness of our food, showcasing it in its best of forms. We had a memorable lunch, enjoyed the bites, loved the vibes and will surely recommend it to all my friends visiting Paris.

Don't skip dessert: The fried katayef filled with clotted cream and soaked in sugar syrup. It's the classy version of katayeh decorated with ground pistachio but tastes more like kellage ramadan. They're exquisite! You can't leave here without having them.
