Juices and fresh things is what this place is all about. Now a firm trend in New York, people want more juices and fresh drinks. With Fresh Greens, Juice Generation and Pure Green among others, the trend is still rising... such places are popping up everywhere.

My favorite item on the menus at these places is the Açaí bowl. I’m in love with Açaí bowls in general; the smoothness, the blended and crushed icy fruits, the sweetness they offer, the almond milk and the variety of fruits used. Pure Green has the best, Juice Generation comes next and now trying the one at Liquiteria.

To start with, the Açaí is served in a plastic cup like a drink and looks cheap and unappetizing: where is the bowl? They’re called 'Açaí Bowls' aren’t they? The competition serves the Açaí in a large and appetizing bowl. No blueberries today, they were replaced by strawberries, the cup is filled to the top, covered with roasted flax seeds which spoil all the flavor. Inside the cup, you’ll spot some bananas floating here and there while the roasting taste of flax seeds follows you. The peanut butter flavor is too prominent for a cup that’s supposed to be refreshing and fruity. The Açaí mix itself is too watery.

Not my favorite to say the least. I’m sure they’re better at pressing juices. Next time I’m craving an Açaí bowl, I’ll go to Pure Green.
