La Brasserie Gaîté, located just a few steps away from the Edgar Quinet Metro station in Paris serves Crepes like you never tasted before. I am a big fan of Crepes. I love how they present them on the streets of Paris - which come in a cone like shape with cheese, ham and mushrooms or Nutella chocolate, bananas and Grand Marnier. But this one is different.

La Brasserie Gaite, or Crepes Gaîté - like some call it - is a French restaurant with a warm and simple decoration that is typically local highlighting on gypsum shapes on the ceiling, a long bar, wooden tables with colored lights which add a cool finish to the place. Violet and orange mixed with beige give the place its signature. Crepes I've tasted until now are served in a cone shape if you want to eat them on the go, or folded into a square closing on the filled ingredients. It was the first time I see this octagonal shape, they call Galettes Sarasin, signature of La Gaîté where the ingredients all appear, fresh and mouthwatering.

The menu:

  • Colette, Juliette, Monique, Eglantine, Germaine, Leone, Lucienne, Mireille, Adrienne, Vivianne, Pauline, Isabelle, Melanie, Suzanne, Theodora, Virginie, Marinette, Therese, Marguerite, Simone, Laurette, Victorine, Josephine are all waiting to be devoured with love and passion.
  • Jeanine, Huguette, Marcelle, Marie-Rose, Martine, Maryline, Gertrude, Lucette, Denise, Leonce, Bernadette, Jeanine, Amandine, Luzette, Louise, Pierrette, Charlotte, Ginette, Madeleine, Henriette, Paulette are filled with sweetness and softness.

We Ordered:
  • Lucienne: 2 eggs, Ham of Paris, Emmental cheese with tomatoes.
  • Adrienne: 2 eggs, Mushroom of Paris, Ham of Paris, Emmental cheese.
  • Goat cheese salad with toasted french bread and parma ham slices
The overall taste is succulent: Galette de Sarasin are French Crepes produced with wheat flour giving it a crunchy and lighter taste. Every bite is unique activating all your senses, traveling along your taste buds, which drives you to a feeling you want continue eating indefinitely. Just add a bit of black pepper from the grinder to add that sharp feel to the mix of eggs, cheese, ham and mushrooms - It is simply yummy.

I loved this place and will surely come back to taste the sweet crepes soon.
