I love doughnuts and every time I feel like adding a few more kilos, Krispy Kreme's always satisfies my craving, especially their Chocolate Dreamcake. A dream cake indeed. I first tried them a few months ago at their CityMall branch. I have been meaning to write about it for some time now but always had something else to report. I couldn't resist destiny anymore. During my visit to Horeca, I came across Krispy Kreme stand. Their green logo called me to stop for some sweet rings. I enjoyed my favorite doughnut calmly in the presence of Ali Al Mekdad, manager of the Bliss branch who told me more about Krispy Cream.
What's my favorite you ask? It's their Chocolate Dreamcake. This piece of heaven truly deserves a post.
Chocolate Dreamcake is not a simple type of fried dough confectionery or dessert food. It's not a simple deep-fried flour dough, and shaped in rings that contains a filling. It's a unique kind of dessert prepared with the Krispy Kreme very soft dough, fried in vegetarian oil and filled with Cadbury chocolate, iced with chocolate and topped with dark chocolate curls. It does not feel sweet, and most importantly it does not taste synthetic. There are 358 calories in 1 doughnut serving of Krispy Kreme Chocolate Dreamcake.
Hazelnut Dreamcake
The Hazelnut Dream Cake which I tasted just for the comparison is filled with Nutella inside. Not my favorite as its sweeter and heavier but for Nutella lovers, it's a must try.
Creation of a doughnut with their special machine:
- Preparing the dough
- Putting them into the extruder
- Cutting the dough
- Preparing the dough for 30 minutes
- Deep frying the dough, leaving it without an oily taste and feel
- Turning the dough (The white line in the middle is the not fried line which doesn't touch the oil while frying)
- Glazing
- Filling
- Icing
- Topping
Now that you know, all you have to do is try it.
