I’ve been a fan of the Hard Rock Cafe for as long as I remember. Two restaurants in Beirut which unfortunately closed but many around the world that I make a point to visit in every new city I travel to. Roma, Istanbul, and Lisbon to name a few. Collecting HRC T-shirts was one of my first serious collections before the age of 16. In the heart of Copenhagen, the Hard Rock Cafe is an interesting American diner to discover.
I’m a fan of the Hard Rock Cafe conviviality; I love it how the waiters approach their customers, smile for them and sometimes sit on their table. Collecting Hard Rock Cafe’s pins is in their genes keeping them attached to the brand.
Dimmed lights and rock music, we were welcomed on the ground floor. Facing that long bar and the stage, high tables are ready to seat parties of four. The same menu, same as Chili's and Applebee’s, that American approach to diner food.
Inside the red crocodile leather you can find: Legendary burgers, nachos, the jumbo combo, three kinds of salads, six choices of burgers, “Guinness and bacon jam cheeseburger”, famous fajitas, Mac and cheese, salmon, strip steak, truffles chicken tenders, from the smokehouse, sandwiches and loaded desserts!
The restaurant is understaffed and very slow service. We waited and waited... one waiter handling a big section was running around like a headless chicken. Thirty minutes passed...
The nachos: a big plate of toasted nachos, dry and served with hard textured guacamole and a side of sour cream. The chips are dry, red a touch of freshness and more sauce. I honestly expected better.
What they call a club sandwich is, in fact, a thick piece of dry chicken breast in between two cold and chewy pain de Mie. An unappetizing sandwich to say the least. Hard textured, chewy chicken, chewy bread and mayonnaise.
The beer burger is not bad: I would have prepared the patty to be less cooked. I liked the sweetness of the sauce and the juiciness of the overall sandwich. My father in law tells me that his plate of salmon is not good; he only had two bites.
The pulled pork sandwich is tonight’s best after the fries — the real American deal with its sweet sauce and a loaded handful of pulled meat inside a sticky bun. Excellent meat! Adequate juiciness, good sweetness, and enjoyable taste.
Not a so pleasant experience; the music is too loud, service is too slow, and the food is as good as it should be without anything exceptional that would make me want to come back again. Not worth visiting!
