Below is a review of the most beautiful hotel I've seen to date! Check out the photo collection and enjoy.
I felt astonished and amazed the first second I set foot at the Ham Yard Hotel London. The beautiful decor transports you from one dimension to another as you walk through the different rooms. Next to the reception is a typical English library with thousands of books to decorate it and an individual kitchen to cater for it, long corridors of a hundred colors, a terrace, a bar and the restaurant with its open kitchen. A beautiful decor.
Amidst Soho and seconds away from Mayfair, Ham Yard Hotel has an urban village feel. The hotel revolves around a tree-filled garden with a bronze sculpture centrepiece by Tony Cragg. Interiors are designed by Kit Kemp in her award-winning modern British style. Alongside the hotel's 91 individually designed bedrooms and suites are 24 apartments, 13 independent stores and a restaurant and bar with outdoor dining.
There is a drawing room and library, Spa and Gym, theatre, private event rooms and a 1950's style bowling alley. The rooftop terrace, another of the hotel's private events spaces, has sweeping views of the Soho skyline.
I checked in and started walking around. An endless journey of things to see, hundreds of photographs... I was trying to cover every single corner without forgetting any detail. I was transported by the colors, by the finesse and class this space has to offer.
Behind the bar, a restaurant welcomes you for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Handled by a professional staff, I ordered breakfast. A waiter approached with such class and elegance taking the order and asking for the drinks. Eggs Benedict, a bagel and some pancakes was the obvious choice.
As I sat down, it took me a few minutes to realise where I was. It's not your luxurious golden hotel but one simple cozy and enjoyable place where you will feel good... I didn't want to leave! Check out the photos down in the gallery, I took many.
Wait until you've discovered the room... oh my Lord! This room is so nice! A wide room designed to perfection using the finest of materials, oozing with happiness and positive vibes. Red and grey are the colors, a high bed, a red sofa in front of it, two relaxing chairs and a small table between them, a mannequin to leave your clothes on and a super wide bathroom covered with fine granite marble. I spent one of the most enjoyable nights at a hotel for its simplicity and class.
The bathroom alone deserves a review. All the expected amenities, two sinks, a strong water pressure... anything to make you happy. I spent hours in my room, watched television, enjoyed the view from my two windows... And before going to sleep you receive a handwritten note with an eye cream pot to relax you even more.
Before leaving I took a tour of the hotel... impressive!!! The sexiest bowling alley I've ever seen, a breathtaking terrace, a one-of-a-kind bar below the reception and much more. Every room has a unique feel to it, the private saloons, the rich artwork and details put in every single little tiny corner to impress. I left astonished!
Service... attention... details.... bravo. The reception staff deserves a raise!
Recommendation: Ask for room 102, 202 or 302.
I loved it here, really felt good, enjoyed everything this hotel has to offer despite the below-average food quality. I would recommend this place to all my friends and myself would definitely come again but ask the management to consider shuffling the kitchen staff and getting them a good trainer.
