I have been to El Mexicano so many times and every time I go all the way up to Faraya I leave happy satisfied ... I love what they do... especially their margaritas, that once you take a sip, you will travel all the way to Mexico and back in a second. Its rich flavors are not to be missed.

Up on the mountains of Faraya is El Mexicano. It's the same place with a new and more colorful approach. I won't be going into decorative details this time, I just want to enjoy some of Edith and Fernando's food.

Lunch started with their homemade margarita. It's perfect with all the right ingredients. It is a unique margarita which I recommend you try. With my glass of margarita I was offered some crunchy homemade nachos with guacamole, pico de gallo tomato sauce, Mexican cheddar style sauce, jalapeños, sour cream and the signature spicy sauce.

Once you start you won't be able to stop!

For lunch... Oh WOW! I had the Aztec cake, a corn tortilla, three layers of it stuffed with chicken, sautéed tomatoes, eggplant and zucchini. Sour cream and cheese add more flavor, oven to brown and cook... Oh my goodness! The roasted red pepper sauce is to die for, lettuce and cheese. It's a journey around taste; it's not like anything you've ate before, it's a WOW. Balanced, spiced, peppered, smooth on the palate, full of taste, lightly acidic, a light crunch, a smooth feel, adequate saltiness. It looks like a lasagna tastes a hundred times better.

A trip to Mexico and back... it's El Mexicano.
