After enjoying a memorable brunch, I was ready to come back for dinner at Aurora. Enjoying soothing jazz music and a beautiful sunset by the lake, I sat on the terrace facing the lake. At Aurora, the clientele is not too young and with it comes a classy service. Water is served while the waitress approaches the table. Cheese and charcuterie; appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, and sides.

On the menu, Aurora proposes a selection of cheeses, smoked salmon, chicken liver pate, foie gras, seafood chowder, grilled beef tenderloin, fresh pasta, pot roast and four sides. A complicated and varied menu, from the land and from the sea.

Start with freshly baked house-made bread with a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I loved how moist the bread is, tender and warm, with a crunchy envelope. Good quality olive oil and intensely acidic balsamic. With that, I chose to have a draft beer, a superb golden colored beer, the Boom Sauce IPA, Lord Hobo Brewing, Woburn MA. It’s so intense, bitter and fruity at the same time.

Beautifully designed, the plates make your mouth water. A fresh ball of mozzarella cut in slices, strong notes of salt, fresh greens and cherries which is not too common to find in a salad. I liked the sunflower seeds turning a green mix into a superfood creation. Sweet and sour with saltiness and style, that salad rocks!

Oven baked figs, four of them, stuffed with blue cheese, almonds and a red wine Pinot Noir reduction. A gourmet creation not for the faint of heart. I loved the sweetness, the crunchy bits and the power of baked blue cheese.

Pappardelle made in-house and cooked extremely aldente. Hard textured Pasta which the chef cooked specially for me without garlic. Zucchini cut in spheres, bacon, and broccoli. I also tried the fish plate cooked as is without sauce leaving a pleasant afternote of grilling in the mouse. 

It started at breakfast and now at dinner; Gourmet food is served here.
