It's the same place  we had breakfast, a large restaurant with high ceiling and hanging chandeliers, warm lighting and beautifully decorated tables, an Italian restaurant renowned around the region,  Davvero welcomes you for a fine experience.

Bizarrely, Davvero is an Italian restaurant with no pasta and no pizza. Anyway, I still satisfied my cravings with their black walnut risotto and signature salad.

A floor covered with long strips of wood, a main wall decorated with five paintings, a glass facade that opens onto the main street, candles center all the tables and a bar. Another dining area is more intimate and is opened when the main space is full.

Light music, professional waiters with a smile, we got our menu and started browsing. I loved the cutlery, two forks and two knives with one little fork on the side. A bread plate and another to mix olive oil and balsamic.

The menu:

  • The 3, 4 or 5 course menu
  • Starters
  • Soups
  • Second Course
  • Main Course
  • Desserts and Cheese

Some notes before we start:

  • The music is dramatic, lounge noises that are kind of depressing.
  • The lights could have been a bit stronger for us to enjoy plates and the colors constituting them.

Before being served, two wooden platters were offered. Focaccia, white and rye bread, Parma ham and a beetroot sauce. Knowing that we ordered our meals without garlic, one platter was made especially for us. The other platter had a complete garlic, roasted for one and a half hours; my wife tells me it's fantastic.

Impeccable service: Nothing asked for was not delivered at the speed of light... and with a smile.

Dinner is served:

  • A yummy salad, an excellent mix of grilled vegetables with tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce. Crunchy croutons are the most interesting thing added to this salad and double the fun. Mushrooms, olives and capers, pine nuts and bell pepper. I loved it! This salad's texture and its intense sauce make of it one of the tastiest salads I ever had.
  • The lobster ravioli is well-cooked al dente, full of lobster flavors but it lacks a bit of salt and pepper. It has a dull after note.
  • The black walnut risotto is good, but can surely handle more flavors. Al dente, the rice is well cooked, smoky aromas, light cream, melted cheese balls... It's good but you expect more boost, more flavor, more finesse.
  • Filet: A super tender blood-free meat with lots of spices. That's the best plate of the night.

The food is good, service as well, but the plates do lack finesse and flavor. The kitchen could use some fine tuning.

The desserts took like an eternity to arrive. We asked for the chocolate dessert and then changed our mind because it needed 15 minutes to prepare. We ended up waiting longer for some fruit laid on a plate.

The first was a black stone board with a slice of banana, two quarters of avocado, mango cream, avocado ice cream that's bitter and dull in taste and a mint leaf. Not worth it.

The orange tart is minuscule. A small tiny little bite of orange cake -not a tart for sure- with gelatin on the bottom. Orange gelatin and some tangy quarters. It was deceiving.

Good service, but the food lacked taste. I expected better from this restaurant down at the Rocco Forte. €60 per person without wine! Not worth it.
