CHECK OTHER REVIEWS FOR THIS PLACE:
Was I harsh on Crepaway for the last couple of years?
Did I say things I was not not supposed to have said about this diner that was one of the first to open in the country?
Honestly, I don't think I was.
Since Roadster opened couple of years ago, Crepaway didn't stop to plunge down to levels that were unacceptable and sadly talked about all around town. The clientele of the restaurant changed, the food quality changed and the waiters became careless.
Two weeks ago I decided to visit Crepaway again, as I have been doing for the last five years or so. I wanted to check on the place, see if there are any improvements, it's menu and developments.
But this year I was welcomed with a huge shock, as I would call it: "The Amazement."
I will describe it in a simple word: "BRAVO"
I was really happily amazed to the extent that I went back to Crepaway three times in a row in the last two weeks.
I loved every inch of the experience starting from the welcoming hostesses, the happy and professional waiters, the colorful and perfectly designed new menu, the great choice of items, the cleanliness and the general ambiance.
I never thought that Crepaway will revive one day.
As its main competitors are moving to smaller menus, Crepaway decided to implement a new strategy keeping the wide and developed menu to cater all tastes and opinions.
Adding to that, their new Angus beef burgers campaign that really a success. As their adv says, not two burgers are the same. Indeed: Delicious, perfectly cooked and juicy thick meat inside a fluffy fresh bun.
I have already tried two different burgers, curly fries, nachos, normal French fries, mozzarella sticks, vegetarian pizza, club sandwich, fried calamari, club sandwich and as well.
Everything was just perfect!
As lots of bad comments have been circulating lately about the competition and their failure in implementing the strategy of the new menu, and their very bad delivery service, I think Crepaway is going to be the next best thing.
On my first visit, at City Mall, the welcoming hostesses and the waiters did everything to make the experience a perfect success. I was discovering the new menu. So colorful and easy to browse. All of the signature items are still featured in a new funky style for the loyal customers to be able to choose the same dishes they were always used to order.
On the second visit, at the Habtoor Hilton, everything was the same and even better. The waiter made a very small mistake with the order that we didn't even mention, but the manger made sure we were offered the dessert after completing the comments card for their future reference.
Even their delivery system and food quality has improved. According to a friend of mine, Crepaway have been doing a great job following up on their customers, even paying house visits to offices and other establishments taking notes on what people are looking to eat, why they have stopped ordering from Crepaway and even offering free lunches to just tell their customers that they are back. Good for them.
Competition is fierce, and as the saying goes, its now the survival of the fittest and it seems the Crepaway is on the right track !
As good as it has become, I am hoping it will stay for long.
