French class in the heart of Dubai... the restaurant is called Chez Charles. When a passionate entrepreneur decides to open a restaurant putting all his effort to make it happen, you can’t but expect perfection. It feels "French" from the minute you walk into the minute you leave; white tablecloth, salt, and pepper kills, two kinds of Echiré butter, soft and tender French bread... fine glasses, Bernardaud plates, Laguiole knives; every detail is thought of meticulously.

I enjoyed the vibes and the music, feeling transported from the minute I walked in. Take a right for the bar, and a left for the dining space with a view on the open kitchen. Ask to meet Charles, he is a lovely character.

Lunch started with a buffalo mozzarella served with cherry tomatoes and a bed of balsamic sauce. Acidic and fresh, pleasantly creamy and flavorful. The quinoa salad is as good, beautifully marinated and enjoyable.

Prepare yourself to taste one of Dubai’s best meats! Exceptional meat, chicken and short ribs. Meat that melts like butter under the teeth, corn-fed tender chicken, fall-off-the fork ribs... it’s an OMG feeling I was not expecting to experience. You also have to try the fish were amazement is guaranteed.

The experience was not over yet, don’t judge until you’ve tried Charles chocolate extravaganza wood-board. The tart is so thin and so crispy, the chocolate is so intense and so rich, the mousse is so light, and the chili torte makes you want to scream. Two thumbs up chefs, you made my day... I mean you made my trip!

Charles is a pride to Lebanon, a know-how and a passion rarely found around the world. That French restaurant is owned by a Lebanese with a Lebanese chef in the kitchen to make it happen. And I scream... Amazing!!!!!
