As soon as Captain Davis opened I wanted to be the first to try it. Something about the decor and spirit excited me and so there I was for two consecutive visits trying almost everything of the menu. I haven't tried their breakfast yet, but I came back for more of their delicious creations.
Captain Davis, located on the main highway in Sin el Fil, welcomes you for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a range of burgers and sandwiches, innovative starters and salads. Inside this square space covered with wood, a bar and a dozen tables are surrounded by metallic chairs. Light wood with colorful chairs of black, red and white, a wooden ceiling with black hanging lights which surround the seating area. The bar is normally used for take away orders. The place is really a work of art.

The burger was good, but a bit different from my first visit. A great fluffy bun filled with a thin slice of tomato, crispy iceberg lettuce and sauce, depending on the order. The meat on the other hand was good but a bit dry, a bit too condensed for me. It's a homey burger meat that my grandma used to make and not the tender, fluffy, moist patty I expect to eat at a specialty shop. I think the chef simply pressed it on the grill, which should never happen.
Today's best deal was the sandwich. Brown bread from Prunelle, crunchy like you can never imagine, tender and fresh and filled with a loaded portion of meat mixed with caramelized onions, which I enjoyed a lot. If you think that burgers are the Captain's specialty, think again. Captain Davis created a new version of the 'casual' sandwiches. Crunchy premium brown bread from Prunelle loaded with amazing ingredients, various tastes, herbs and mixes. This is not a street food sandwich but something unique and extraordinary. Super tender beef mixed with crunchy cooked vegetables... the cheese appears at the end of every bite...
The things I loved:
- The burgers don't spill out.
- Each is enjoyed with class and finesse Look closely as each burger is served with a different kind of bread.
- At Captain Davis, every detail counts.
- If you're not a fan of coleslaw, no problem, as three different salads are proposed Chips or potato wedges, it's your choice.
- Refined burgers the casual way Just enjoy the burgers as they are.
The best thing today is that Captain Davis has improved the fries which were not as good as they should be for the last year. Same spirit, same ambiance, same attention, this diner has a bright future ahead.
