Cannelle's Croissants

Open in 1992, Cannelle was one of the first French pastry shops proposing a high-end selection of gourmet delights. Today, considered by many to be one of the country's Top10 pastry shops, and member of Relais Desserts International, Cannelle offers a wide range of trendy and tasty products.

Beirut is a croissant-loving town, and Cannelle's may be the best in class (especially the almond and zaatar, a thyme-centered savory spice mix). The bakery also does seasonal cakes and tarts if you're invited to dinner. Take-out only, but there is a tiny park next door in which you may scarf your treats.

Below are their croissants which are sometimes flaky, sometimes less... Being honest and straight forward, Cannelle isn't what it used to be. Still in the Top 10 but not number 1.
