With an airport that boasts a lounge as big and enjoyable as the Cedars Lounge, having something as dramatic as the Byblos lounge is pathetic.
Byblos lounge located after the Beirut lounge on the right side of the first floor. It is where you'll be spending some time if you're traveling through British Airways, Tarom, Cyprus Air, Ethiopian, Aeroflot, Fly Dubai and Turkish Airlines.I'm shocked at how prestigious companies like these would accept to have a lounge like that.
Next time you're traveling, enjoy the duty-free experience at the International Rafic Hariri Airport and make sure to avoid this area at all cost.
Is it that bad you ask? Yes!
Here’s a very low ceiling lounge packed with black leather sofas and chairs surrounding black wooden tables on grey flooring. You’ll find only one TV, no music except the wheezing sound of the refrigerator that offers some soft drinks, and a bartender behind a bar playing on his phone. There’s a buffet, but trust me you do not want to see the state the food is in… you’ll find bread and Picon cheese on one side and some other bites like cheese buns, salad cups, hummus in a cup, fatayer, kebbeh and sambousik.
This lounge is glum with a sad overwhelming feeling of loneliness, calm... It felt as if I was in a haunted room.
