Fast food restaurant Burger King has released its own red wine brand, Whopper Wine, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the opening of Burger King’s first branch in Spain.
The oak aged red has been crafted specifically to pair with the chain’s famous Whopper burgers. While this is Burger King’s first foray into wine, rival McDonald’s already sells wine in a number of its South American sites.
Keen to innovate, earlier this year Burger King launched a Whopper-inspired fragrance called Flame Grilled priced at £28 a bottle. Last year the chain debuted a “black burger” in a bamboo charcoal bun in Japan.
