It's in Beirut, the heart of Lebanon which hasn't been beating much lately. A calm area with two coffee shops, of which Lina's is one. Some shops have closed and others are still struggling to continue and this is one of the many reasons why Souk el Akel is back in Beirut once a week. Preparing for the Christmas edition, we went for breakfast at Lina's.

Enjoying this morning's fresh air, sunny spells and faded sounds of busy Beirut, we sat on the terrace surrounded by old stones and square tiles. An enchanted space built at the beginning of the century is a local pride that's has been lost in time. It's our duty to come back here, to revive it!

Lina's, other than the sandwiches and meals, also serves breakfast. Six choices, including five sandwiches and the main dish: "Le Matin Plaisir".

The egg sandwich, Labneh, cheese, ham and cheese and ham. The Morning Pleaser contains everything from continental breakfast, Labneh, feta, then, jam, eggs, tomatoes, cucumber, olives, fresh juice and coffee.

The downtown branch is still using the old decor and won't be changing anything soon, or until Beirut is revived. I encourage you to visit them because believe me, you'll enjoy the food, service and ambiance. 

The sandwich and its fresh bread is delicious. Eggs and mayo with crispy fresh vegetables. I loved it so much that I finished it completely. The breakfast platter is also very good. A Lebanese selection from the terroir proposing Zaatar, Labneh, cheese, ham and vegetables. It's served with a bread basket.

Enjoying the sun, coffee, orange juice and good food. A pleasant morning in the heart of the capital is something I'll be repeating again.
