Breakfast in America is a diner serving breakfast as its name suggests, as well as lunch and dinner. The setup is typically an American style diner from the 50’s.
I tried Breakfast in America in 2013 at their fifth district location and that was for a burger review. I am here again but this time for breakfast in their second district location.
First impression:
It’s a scary one! The restaurant seems closed until we spotted someone inside. The hostess was on her phone behind the bar, the staff walks around with no proper uniforms, and tables are left unattended to messy and dirty not a welcoming place for breakfast. I wanted to leave before I even sat down.
It's breakfast time! Ketchup and mayonnaise bottles should be replaced with maple syrup and chocolate.

We called for the order: Breakfast burrito, bagel and cream cheese, pancakes with dark chocolate and bananas.
Mugs are either broken or dirty... Milk on the side is served in a dirty container spilling from all sides while the same waitress throws her negative vibes as she walks. We're sorry to disturb your computer work; but can we get properly served?
Fifteen minutes it took for someone to come take the order... Another twenty minutes or be served. It started to become unbearable.
Lol! And she drops the tray on the floor... And she takes the bagel with her bare hands and puts it in the toaster. Every two minutes, she insets her fingers in "my bagel" to make sure it's toasted enough. What a dramatic morning; what's next?
15 minutes later we received the bagel. A plate with a bagel and cream cheese on the side. Fifteen long minutes to get a plate with a bagel cut in half and a bit of cream cheese. And we still waited for breakfast to be served.
- To my surprise…Oh wow! The breakfast burrito is to die for. A burrito wrap filled with juicy scrambled eggs a load of cheese melted to enjoyment, tender peppers and the salsa that leaves a light spicy after note. They're really good, very very good. With that are cubed potatoes served cold and covered with garlic powder, which isn't logical for a morning meal.
- The pancakes are awesome! Three huge pancakes topped one over the other mixed with bananas and layered which dark chocolate chips. Extremely fluffy and airy, the pancakes are so light mixed with sliced bananas inside. Some dark chocolate chips add a kick of enjoyment. Really, exceptional pancakes and it's a pity to find them in a place like that.
Conclusion:
- Delicious food.
- Generous portions.
- Disastrous service.
- Dirty restaurant.
With everything we encountered, the food was excellent, but I'm not sure I'll be coming back or even recommending it to my friends.
