Rise and shine and run to have breakfast in the glass verrière. One of my biggest nightmares is eating under a low ceiling in a room without windows. One of the most beautiful breakfast spaces I have encountered in a hôtel is found here at the Montreux Palace. Light comes in from all sides, wood covering the floor, yellow chandeliers, two trees, and a long buffet... Today, I woke up hungry.
Choose from a wide selection of cold cuts, cheeses, fruits, and cereals. Walk to the chef preparing eggs a la minute. Fill a bowl of yogurt, sprinkle some cereals, add fruits and enjoy a healthy meal. Ask for two poached eggs with cheese and ham. Prepare a sandwich of smoked salmon, butter and mustard...
Sipping my coffee and the view, I wished time would stop. A flaky croissant, delicious Swiss cheese, fresh bread, salted butter and thick ham.
The next morning I decided to have a loaded bowl of yogurt; I added a handful of fruits, covered them with a mix of nuts and seeds, topped it with two spoons of yogurt then a sprinkle of granola adds a touch of crunchiness. Such a mix is not complete without a drizzle of honey. That’s magic at breakfast.
Cheese, a wide selection of cheese; try all kinds of fresh bread especially the one covered with seeds. I love my cheese with mustard finishing two pots of Heinz.
PS: At a hôtel as great as The Montreux Palace, I expected to eat eggs Benedict or eggs Florentine. The sauce takes no time to prepare and can help create mouthwatering photos and satisfy guests. I ordered two poached eggs, received hard and overcooked with no sauce on top.
Good breakfast but you expect better from a Palace. Check the photos and enjoy! If you’re visiting Montreux, stop by the Palace.
