Served at the starred Italian restaurant of Alberico Pennati, breakfast of the -so called five star- hotel de Vigny is not worth it. I was expecting more, much more than old used boxes filled with food samples.
It’s a calm space with no music. The dull atmosphere is far from feeling any positive vibes of a beautiful morning.
The buffet is divided into two areas, bread and cereals on the bar and the rest of the items is on the left side next to a glass facade.
Yogurt, cold cuts and salmon with a tower of croissants, two glasses of fruit salads and a basket of fruits. On the other side are a selection of three cereals, some choices of bread, jam and cheese. That's it.
The continental breakfast cost €25 without eggs. The eggs are for €7. Mind you they don’t even serve eggs Benedict. We are in a five star hotel.
Instead of offering a discounted price if you order the continental breakfast with eggs they propose it for exactly €32. Seriously?
Where are the sausages, where are the beans, pancakes or waffles? A stingy breakfast.
The croissant are fine but lack flavor, pain au chocolat lack chocolate and taste, the choice of cheese used is rudimentary, the bread is fresh, the fruit salad is made of hard crunchy fruits... That's it, I left hungry honestly.
Nothing more can be said. It’s not recommended and not worth it. Next time I'll grab a sandwich on the street or have a decent sumptuous breakfast at Laduree for the same price.
For a -so called five star- that's deceiving.
