Big Fernand is a whole world of its own. You are transported far away from Paris where fun is the motto, love is the spirit and good food is the headline. You enter a small space where each burger is made with love and dedication just for the pleasure of your senses. I've already visited four times in the last three years, reconfirming it as one of the capital's best. Today I indulge in a double double at Big Fernand Val D'Europe.
A long rectangular place where the story begins, burgers grilling, mouth watering aromas and simplicity. They call them "hamburgérs" in here. The staff are happy, spreading positivity and fun!

Wrapped in paper, the burger has a homey feel to it. As simple as it is - and should be - it fits your bite effortlessly. Simplicity is key and it works perfectly here. Unwrap and discover a ball. Yes a ball-like burger entirely concealed within a bun. Nothing of the contents show until you venture your first bite. A sweet touch, a good bun, rich meat, a little bit of raclette cheese, chives, cocktail sauce, Big Fernand barbecue sauce and bacon. All of this in a small burger that feels like home.
Close your eyes and imagine... A thin bun, bitten through easily then you plunge into a thick layer of white non-oily and melted cheese that protects the freshly prepared meat. Juicy meat full of flavors and love, and trust me you will feel the love. Different from conventional American burgers, Fernand's burger has only texture; the whole thing melts under your teeth like butter. Everything inside is cooked to perfection, the cheese, meat, grilled tomato and shredded parsley all add up to create a fine burger: the Big Fernand burger. We also tried another introduction to the menu, Le Bartholome, which is to die for. Imagine the above ingredients along with tasty bacon and sweet caramelized onions... be careful not to moan too high from joy.
With the burgers, we ordered a cup of fries that's also unique. The fries are cut in small pieces, soft and seasoned with paprika and salt.
I'm remain a big fan of their unique burgers!
