Special food, special decoration Away from the hustle and bustle of Beirut, Babel is an authentic Lebanese cuisine house that everyone should try.

I often passed by Babel Dbayeh without having the curiosity to actually enter. The place is so huge, it intimidated me a bit. But, I’m happy to say I was wrong:  Babel, is a very nice restaurant located far from Beirut's crowded roads. Everything was good, the valet and their welcoming, the hostess who takes you to your seat, the rounded tables they have and when you sit down, it takes a couple of minutes to understand that grandiose architecture: temple style walls and finishing.

I found it very intelligent the way they dug holes on the restaurant surface and installed the tables there. That way the ceiling is much higher and the sensation of being in an open space is very nice. My first impression was positive as they served warm peanuts and special bread with crushed olives. The menu they serve is a normal Lebanese set menu, but prepared with a twist. Everything is special, from the HOMMOS, to the TABBOULEH, FRIED BIRDS and KEBBE, to name a few. Even their meat is nice and tender. After enjoying this varied tasty choice, their desert was an amazing topper: ice cream with ismalliyeh, or other things where Babel mixes the traditional Arabic sweets with oriental components.

Go try it, you won't regret it.
