Al Chalouf: My Favorite Restaurant in Jezzine

Al-Chalouf: One of the few restaurants with an ISO certificate

To reach Jezzine in South Lebanon and to continue into the next villages in the direction of the Chouf, you have to pass in front of couple of restaurants and Al-Chalouf is one of them.

Seated on the highest point of the famous Jezzine waterfall, 75 meters over the valley, AL-Chalouf provides a great view down to the sea. It is a restaurant like any other Lebanese restaurant in Lebanon but the difference between Al-Chalouf and others in the region is the fact that they serve very good quality. I say that because the reputation of the food in the region has not been so good in the past couple of years.

The dishes are tasty, the menu is clean, the service is professional, the ambiance is calm and classy providing tourists and local visitors a decent and pleasant experience. From fried birds, to Hummus, Sambousik, Tabboule and many others followed by the Kachta Liyye signature dessert and fresh Lebanese fruits, AL-Chalouf was positively shocking experience for me.

From now on you can visit the South, climb up the mountains to the internationally renowned Jezzine village, buy some hand made cutlery and then enjoy a delicious lunch at the locals. I will be there often from now on.

PS: Do not miss the Kebbe with Labneh, a regional specialty.
