Tavolina: I Found it... A Pizza Worth a Trophy
Two thumbs up for their pizza. I can honestly say that today I've tasted one of the best not to say the best Italian pizza ever tasted in Lebanon. A 30cm perfectly round pizza with thin non chewy dough and generous filling. Amazingly well decorated, the ingredients are fresh and tasty. Surrounding these ingredient is a thick round border, crunchy on the outside and spongy on the inside that you really enjoy eating with an after effect of YUM! If you like Marguerita's pizza, you will love Tavolina's. Dear Pizzaiolo, you deserve a round of applause.
Punta Del Este: A Lovely Argentinian Experience
Pizza a la Parilla (Argentinian style grilled pizza, caramelized onions, rosemary, provolone cheese, ruccula and black olives): If you think you've tried all Pizzas around town, think again. Punta Del Este offers an Argentinean style pizza that confirms this cuisine influences with the Mediterranean. Combining the Italian perfection and Lebanese knowhow, an oval Pizza is close to our local mankoushe but surely more stylish. A thick dough is covered with a rich filling of cheese with a smoky taste as well as caramelized onions that add a touch of sweetness and style. Soft in the middle and crunchy on the sides, this pizza is not to be missed
Captain Cook: Healthy Tasty Delivery Just a Phone Call Away
Bear Paws LBP15,750: Salmon, lemon, caper, cream cheese, mozzarella, rocca and mango. Take a deep breath and start contemplating this fine, round thing. Not the usual pizza you know, not a thick fluffy dough, no tomato sauce, but something you've never ever experienced before. A tortilla-thin crunchy crust topped with a generous portion of salmon topping a thin layer of cream cheese and a mountain of rocket leaves. To make it more unique and innovative, some mango cubes are left on top to add finesse and sweetness. Leave everything and order it now! I've had four slices. The flavors are majestic! The crunch, the smoothness, the sweetness, the oiliness of the salmon... Two thumbs up!
Don Baker: Delicious Pizzas and Mouthwatering Crepes
La Fromagere pizza: Sauce tomato, mozzarella, emmental, chèvre, olives noires, oregano. Don Baker's pizzas are a perfect blend between our local mankoushe and Italian pizzas. A thin dough with a wide border, thin and enjoyable without being chewy nor crispy and covered with a generous load of toppings. On that is a premium tomato sauce that's most importantly not sweet covering a dough that's also not sweet. Mastering the equilibrium of flavors makes this pizza unique, different from the local bakers or from the Italian restaurants. On that, a crumble of white cheese... yum! PS: Eat it immediately while it's hot since the dough turns chewy very quickly.
Bar Tartine's New Location in Dbayeh: The First Impression
Smoked Salmon Pizza: Pure pleasure... That's how I describe the pizza at Bar Tartine and more specifically the salmon pizza. Close your eyes and let me take you on a journey... Fresh aromas of dill and salmon walk in around your brain while the dough, thin yet enjoyably crunchy touch your lower teeth. Jealous, the upper teeth touching the melted cheese, cooked capers and fresh dill scream from joy... A blend of pleasure in a bite, a cocktail of passion and some love felt in every bite. Inside, hidden under the salmon, is a bed of spinach covered with cream cheese adding the moister and smoothness of this amazing creation. I couldn't but scream, scream high and loud!
Tomatomatic... Proudly Lebanese American Pizza
The thick crust is thin, covered with bits of wheat or semolina giving it a sandy effect (like Domino's) and topped with a load of fillings. The border is crunchy on the outside and enjoyably fluffy on the inside. The beef taco doesn't contain any crunchy taco, but slices of spicy jalapeños, green pepper and beef. A good pizza, even though the cheese was not melting any more due to traffic or some kind of delay. The chicken is good: Juicy and full of taste. The same dough, but covered with a rich filling of moist chicken and a hint of barbecue with an enjoyable, subtle sweetness. The pepperoni has a smoky taste and comes on a thin dough, tomato sauce, cheese and a crunchy border with a sweet aftertaste. I like this special Tomatomatic sauce, it's the main ingredient that makes the difference. The best part of the orders were the hot tomato dips that come with every pizza. Dip in the crust and enjoy.
Pzza.Co… Will Put a Smile on your Face… I was Overwhelmed
The Pzza in few lines: Perfectly rounded pizza's filled with the richest of ingredients. I looked at them as colorful pieces of edible art, where all my senses were activated the minute I laid eyes on them. I can still visualize the strong red color... simple candy to my eyes. The dough is thin, fine and light. How great it is to feel the extraordinary crust prepared with love and dedication... filled with aromas and flavors. It starts with a simple bite which takes you on a journey around Italy and its wonders. Just when you think that the experience is over, you'll reach the borders! Awesome borders... Pleasantly crunchy yet tender in the middle... you will not want to skip out on this one... A salty aftertaste will put a smile on your face. I loved the pizzas so very much that I tell you confidently to go try one of the best pizzas in Lebanon... Not to say my favorite to date.
Margherita: Pizzeria del Quartiere dal 1959
A baked Italian pie consisting of a shallow bread-like crust covered with toppings such as seasoned tomato sauce, cheese, sausage, or olives. Their tomato sauce is unique. The bottom of the pizza, the "crust" is thin and plain. The outer edge of the pizza is lightly crusty and spongy at the same time making it very enjoyable to be eaten. Wheat flour is used, brewer's yeast, salt and water. The dough is formed by hand and is less than 3 millimeters thick. The pizza smells and tastes of that wood burn in the oven which makes a lot of difference to the taste. The mozzarella used in small balls, melts homogeneously over the surface and is pleasant to eat. After cooking the dough is crispy, tender.
Nonna's Delectable Pizza now in Dbayeh
All pizzas at Nonna are unique and stand out among all other pizzas in town. Grab a slice and enjoy eating with your hands.
The Peninsula: An Italian Country House in Dbayeh
The Peninsula, Italian restaurant in Dbayeh is one of those places we tend to forget sometimes, only because several other Italians have opened around town and maybe in more convenient places like malls or closer to Beirut. The food is good, the location and whole set up is fresh, a perfect spot for a Sunday family reunion lunch. I haven't been there in a while, I was impressively surprised. Let's not forget that Peninsula is one of - if not the first - to start the restaurant trend in the Dbayeh area.
TOTO: A Special Italian Spot in Beirut
The one-meter pizza: Tartufona (mozzarella de bufflonne, ceps, and black truffes, Italian sausage and parmesan), Ai Quattro fromaggi (tomato sauce, pecorino, gorgonzola, caciocavallo, parmesan), Gustosa (tomato sauce, mozzarella, ham, mushrooms, olives, oregano). That's something to order! We were six that night, enjoying a bite of every flavor of this unique pizza. Toto's pizza has surely improved. I remember having a thick spongy one when they first opened which turned out to be bizarre for the Lebanese. Another version then developed and now, perfected, the pizzas at Toto are a superb reflection of Italian culinary extravaganza. Crunchy on the sides, thin, hardly soaked in sauce and covered with a thin layer of fresh ingredients with calibrated flavors. Order this 1 meter pizza for $60 and choose three flavors to top it.
