2013: Finest Restaurants & Hotels Experiences

I have tried a number of new restaurants and hotels around the world in 2013 while revisiting some of my favorite places again over the past year… Venues that serve mouthwatering and exquisite dishes, served in a professional atmosphere, all in a beautiful setting. Fine dining in its utmost perfection and nights spend smiling from satisfaction in the below list of discoveries. NoGarlicNoOnions_Top10_Restaurant_Reviews_Lebanon

Restaurant Alexandre with Chef Michel Kayser: My Best Dining Experience to Date It has been a tradition with my family to always try and find the best restaurants in a region we visit while on holiday. Spending our last vacation in the Camargues, France, an extensive search prepared before reaching the village led us to Restaurant Alexandre, owned and managed by Chef Michel Kayser and his lovely wife. Chef Michel Kayser is a Grand Chef of Relais & Chateaux and awarded two Michelin stars to date.

La Bastide Saint Antoine: Famous Starred Chef Jacques Chibois “You cannot come to the Cote D’Azur without trying Chef Jacques Chibois “unique cuisine”, says my father-in-law… And he is right. La Bastide Saint-Antoine in Grasse is surrounded by grounds spanning five hectares with lush Mediterranean vegetation set amidst olive groves. La Bastide commands views of the surrounding plains and the Bay of Cannes and offers a wealth of pleasures for the eye, palate, and spirit.

Luxury at its best, in Mougins, a city located fifteen minutes from Nice airport, in the heart of the Cote D’Azur country side where every muscle in your body will enjoy a relaxing time. Expensive it is: For 700€ a night at Le Mas Candille Hotel, for a deluxe room not including breakfast? I’m sure we could have had the same services elsewhere at half the price.

Some reviews over the internet give the Lotte a six stars rating while others give it five stars plus, I will have to agree with both and say that the Lotte is one of the best hotels I have visited in terms of its welcoming feel, outstanding service, memorable decoration and spacious rooms.

Our last night in Dublin had to be special and unique – we opted to dine at the only 2-star Michelin in Ireland. Some say the first impression is the most important but I personally believe in the little details that accompany your evening right until the end… A week already passed and I still cannot forget our meal at Patrick Guilbaud and how memorable it is as I remember the rich flavors that still travel around my palate. Having featured in everything from the Irish Times to the New York Times, Patrick Guilbaud is renowned as one of the best restaurants in Ireland and is also internationally acclaimed, it’s no wonder it has left such an impact on me…

And the quest continues. Finding the best breakfast in a five star hotel in Lebanon. After visiting the Hilton Habtoor, Le Royal Dbayeh, Le Gray and Le Vendome, the Four Seasons Beirut was next on the list. I have heard a lot of good things about the breakfast served in this hotel facing Beirut’s’ sea view and just walking distance to Zaytounay Bay… Of course, I just have to try everything for myself.

I went to Le Sushi Bar. Yes again. But this time it was to celebrate the 15th year anniversary of one of my favourite places in Lebanon. With this celebration comes a new menu composing of 15 new dishes, which will redefine the way you know, imagine, and taste seafood and Japanese cuisine.

There are things in life one should not miss… Attending the French Gastronomic Week in Lebanon was a must, at least for me. This event was special in many ways. . . Not only did we get to try dishes prepared by five outstanding chefs from France, this year’s edition marked the 12th anniversary of this renowned French Gastronomic Week at the Al Dente restaurant located on the ground floor of the Albergo Hotel in Achrafieh. Six nights filled where five chefs offered their best creations as they joined hands for a magical closing finale dinner.

The French capital is a heaven for me – well when it comes to good food, among other things. I recently had the chance to enjoy a true fine dining experience in an establishment that deserves a Michelin star. Everything was close to perfection at Rech – the welcoming, service, ambiance, food as well as »more… Rech_Seafood_Restaurant_Paris111
